The brake force required to provide tension is delivered via a hydraulic circuit with each tension roll directly coupled to a hydraulic motor.
Polyurethane vs. Non-Woven Synthetic
Polyurethane Rolls are best suited for running clean and dry materials (pre-finished and pre-painted materials).
The polyurethane cover is bonded to a steel core and has 1-2” of roll diameter surface grind down available before the cores need to be recovered.
Non-woven synthetic tension roll covering works best for running oily or dirty metal surfaces. 13” diameter Non-woven tough synthetic discs are mounted on a steel core. The discs are compressed to achieve the desired hardness. These rolls are self healing, provide squeegee action and provide the greatest traction. There is a 2”roll diameter surface available for grind down before recovering is required.
